Brussels, 22nd January 2024 - In the context of his first official trip to Brussels, the Secretary of Bioeconomy of Argentina, Mr. Fernando Vilella, participated in the seminar "Contributions of Bioeconomy to Sustainable Development", organised by the Argentine Embassy to the EU and its Agricultural Attaché.
The seminar featured the notable presence of Mr. Fernando Vilella, who acted as the main speaker. During his presentation, he outlined the central axes of Argentina's bioeconomic development strategy. His speech focused on how Argentina is implementing innovative practices in bioeconomy to promote balanced and sustainable development.
The event also included the participation of distinguished personalities such as Mr. Manuel Otero, Director General of the IICA, and Mr. Luis Carazo Jiménez, representative of the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Commission. Their interventions highlighted the importance of international collaboration in the field of bioeconomy and sustainable development.
Additionally, Mr. Thierry de l’Escaille from the European Landowners’ Organization, Mr. Marcelo Regunaga, General Coordinator of the Group of Southern Producing Countries (GPS), and Mr. Cristian Feldkamp, Executive Director of CREA, participated in the event. These experts shared their perspectives and experiences in good agricultural sustainability practices, both from the private sector in Argentina and the European Union.
The seminar "Contributions of Bioeconomy to Sustainable Development" is part of the various actions that the Argentine Embassy to the EU promotes as a fundamental platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences between Argentina and the EU and the deepening of bilateral dialogue.
