Brussels, 28th June 2023 - Ambassador Berardi participated in the meeting on the joint communication "A new agenda for EU-Latin America and Caribbean relations."
The meeting, which took place at the European Commission, brought together the Ambassadors of the member countries of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), along with the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, and the EU Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen.
During the meeting, topics of great relevance to strengthen the relations between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean were addressed. Ambassador Berardi had the opportunity to express Argentina's position and contribute with perspectives in defining a new agenda that promotes cooperation and dialogue between both regions.
The joint communication "A new agenda for EU-Latin America and Caribbean relations" is an important step to strengthen bilateral and multilateral ties between the two regions. It proposes a renewed and updated vision of the relationship, encompassing a wide range of areas of common interest, such as trade, investment, sustainability, global governance, and the fight against climate change.
Argentina, as an active member of CELAC, considers cooperation and solidarity between both regions as fundamental to address global challenges and promote sustainable and inclusive development.
The Argentine Embassy to the European Union values and appreciates the willingness and commitment of High Representative Josep Borrell, Commissioner Jutta Urpilainen, and the Ambassadors of the CELAC member countries. Collaboration between both regions is essential to tackle common challenges and build a prosperous and equitable future.
