Brussels, 6th July 2023 - Argentine Ambassador Atilio Berardi met with the Spanish Ambassador to the European Union.

 

Argentine Ambassador Atilio Berardi held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Permanent Representation of Spain to the European Union, Marcos Alonso Alonso, at the headquarters in Brussels. During the encounter, both diplomats discussed the start of the Rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union and its objectives, as well as the upcoming EU-CELAC Summit, scheduled to take place on the 17th and 18th of July.

 

The meeting between Ambassador Berardi and Ambassador Alonso allowed for an exchange of ideas and perspectives regarding the Rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union, currently held by Spain until the 31st of December this year. Both diplomats emphasized the importance of this period to advance cooperation and shared interests between the European Union and Latin America.

 

Furthermore, Ambassador Berardi and Ambassador Alonso addressed the upcoming Summit between the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the European Union, a key event for strengthening political and economic ties between both regions. The EU-CELAC Summit, scheduled for the 17th and 18th of July, will provide a platform for dialogue and collaboration on mutual areas of interest, as well as for the identification of future cooperation areas.

 

Additionally, Ambassador Berardi reaffirmed Argentina's commitment to actively contribute to the debates and efforts that will take place during the Rotating Presidency of the Council and the EU-CELAC Summit.

 

The meeting between Argentine Ambassador Atilio Berardi and Ambassador Marcos Alonso highlights the importance of diplomacy in strengthening international relations and advancing shared agendas.
