Brussels, 9th January 2024 - The Argentine Embassy to the European Union participated in the follow-up meeting of the EU-LAC (European Union - Latin America and the Caribbean) agenda in Digital Dialogue, focused on strengthening the Digital Alliance between Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
The meeting served as a platform for member countries to share their vision and plans for the next stage of implementation of the Digital Alliance.
A central topic of discussion was cybersecurity, where joint strategies for protecting digital infrastructures and information of national and regional relevance were addressed.
In the realm of connectivity, attendees highlighted the importance of improving internet access throughout the region, especially in rural and less developed areas.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) was also a key point. The importance of collaborating in the development of AI policies and technologies that respect ethical values and promote the common good was emphasised.
Finally, on the topic of e-Governance, there was a reaffirmation of interest in advancing the improvement of transparency and efficiency through the use of digital technologies.
