Today in the city of Lima, Argentina's Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie handed over the Presidency Pro Tempore of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) to the Plurinational State of Bolivia, which will effectively assume it on 17 April.

Argentina's goal while holding the Presidency Pro Tempore was to establish a cooperation system with other regional integration mechanisms in order to avoid holding more than one forum on the same topics, and thus help UNASUR focus its work on its main goals: energy integration, infrastructure development in the region and connectivity improvement.
