Brussels, 26th September 2023 - Ambassador Atilio Berardi met with Member of the European Parliament Bernd Lange, who chairs the International Trade Committee in the European Parliament.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed various topics of relevance to both parties, with a particular focus on strengthening the ties between Argentina and the European Union within the framework of shared values and the opportunities presented by recent agreements in the field of Energy and Critical Raw Materials.
Ambassador Atilio Berardi highlighted that Argentina and the European Union share a firm commitment to democracy, human rights, and environmental protection. Furthermore, he emphasized the mutual benefits arising from recent agreements in the energy and strategic raw materials sectors, which have laid the foundation for stronger collaboration in these fields.
Bernd Lange, Chair of the International Trade Committee of the European Parliament, expressed his satisfaction with the meeting, expressed his willingness to continue supporting Argentina's engagement with the Parliament, and underscored the importance of further strengthening the links between the European Union and Mercosur countries. He also expressed optimism regarding the Mercosur-European Union Agreement.
