Ambassador Atilio Berardi meets with European Union officials to strengthen the Argentina-EU working agenda

Brussels, 8th September 2023 - Argentina's Ambassador to the European Union, Atilio Berardi, held a meeting with Carmen Preising, Chief of Staff to Virginijus Sinkevičius, European Commissioner for Environment, Oceans, and Fisheries, and Eglantine Cujo, Deputy Chief of Staff, at the headquarters of the Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the European Commission (DG MARE).

 

During the meeting, Ambassador Berardi and the EU officials reviewed the joint working agenda between Argentina and the European Union, emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral ties in various areas. Discussions covered various topics in which Argentina has a prominent leadership role, such as oceanic, Antarctic, environmental, scientific, and trade matters, amongst others.

 

The meeting allowed for an exchange of opinions and perspectives on how to deepen bilateral dialogue and enhance cooperation in these areas of common interest. Both parties expressed their commitment to environmental protection, as well as the promotion of scientific research and mutually beneficial trade.

 

Finally, Ambassador Berardi highlighted the importance of these discussions in the context of the Argentina-European Union relationship and noted that these meetings are a significant step towards greater understanding and collaboration between both parties.
