Argentina and the European Union make progress in biotechnology and sustainable food systems dialogues

Brussels, 27th October 2023 - The Argentine Embassy to the EU participated in the tenth edition of the biotechnology and sustainable food systems dialogue.

This is an annual event that brings both parties together to review the latest developments and share experiences in various fields, considered a key discipline for sustainable development in the current challenging climate context.

During this meeting, fundamental topics related to biotechnology were discussed, including advances in research and their application in areas such as agriculture, health, and industry. Collaboration in biotechnology between Argentina and the EU is essential to promote innovation and find solutions to current challenges, particularly in the context of an ever-changing climate.

In addition to the Biotechnology Dialogue, Argentina and the EU also took part in the EU-Latin America and Caribbean Dialogue on Sustainable Food Systems. This dialogue aims to promote the exchange of ideas and experiences on issues related to soil health and food waste reduction, as well as sharing approaches that encourage a just transition to sustainable agri-food systems.

Collaboration between both regions in the field of sustainable food is crucial to address global challenges in terms of food security and environmental sustainability.
