Bruges, 18th October 2023 - Ambassador Atilio Berardi, Representative of the Republic of Argentina to the European Union, held a productive meeting with Federica Mogherini, who serves as the Rector of the College of Europe, a unique institution in European studies, and the head of the European Diplomatic Academy, the first diplomatic training program of the European Union initiated by the European External Action Service.

 

The meeting, which took place at the College's headquarters in the city of Bruges, provided a special opportunity to discuss academic and diplomatic matters of mutual interest. The Ambassador thanked Federica Mogherini for sharing her valuable insights and expressing her willingness to collaborate with the Embassy of Argentina to the EU on issues related to academic and diplomatic training.

 

Before assuming her current position, Mogherini served as the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission (2014-19), as the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (2014) and was a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies (2008-2014).

 

Thus, Federica Mogherini is a prominent figure in European diplomacy with extensive experience in international and European affairs. Her leadership at the College of Europe and the European Diplomatic Academy represents a great opportunity to strengthen collaboration in terms of education and knowledge between the Republic of Argentina and the European Union.
