Brussels, 25th August 2023 - The Ambassador of Argentina to the European Union, Atilio Berardi, met with MEP Jordi Cañas, President of the Mercosur Delegation in the European Parliament.

 

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between Argentina and the European Union, as well as promoting cooperation in key areas within the parliamentary sphere.

 

Ambassador Berardi and MEP Cañas discussed the proposed work plan within the framework of bilateral agreements recently signed between Argentina and the European Union. In this regard, the agreements in the areas of Energy and Critical Raw Materials have marked a significant milestone in collaboration between both regions, promoting investment, job creation, and technological exchange.

 

Furthermore, during the meeting, both sides shared views on the prospects and current evolution of the Mercosur-European Union Agreement.

 

Finally, they highlighted the importance of continuing to deepen open and constructive dialogue to address common areas of interest and advance a shared agenda.
