Brussels, 17th August 2023 - Ambassadors of Argentina and Saudi Arabia meet to promote bilateral relations and dialogue with the European Union.

 

In a diplomatic meeting, the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to the European Union, Atilio Berardi, met with the Ambassador and Head of Mission Haifa A. Al-Jedea of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the European Union, in order to strengthen bilateral ties and deepen cooperation in various areas with the European Union.

 

During the cordial meeting, Ambassador Berardi and Ambassador Al-Jedea had a substantive exchange on the current relationship between their respective countries and the European Union. The envoys explored avenues for collaboration both bilaterally and in regional contexts, including the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

 

One of the highlights of the meeting was the exchange of perspectives on the recent reciprocal visits of senior officials from Argentina and Saudi Arabia. These visits symbolise the shared commitment to enhance trade, cooperation and mutual understanding. The officials reiterated the importance of building on these interactions to further expand trade opportunities and cooperation in a variety of sectors, to the benefit of the citizens of both nations.

 

Ambassador Berardi expressed optimism for an even stronger partnership between Argentina and Saudi Arabia, emphasising the potential for economic growth, cultural exchange and joint initiatives on issues of global importance. Similarly, Ambassador Al-Jedea echoed these sentiments and highlighted the significance of leveraging their countries' shared interests for the well-being of their peoples.
