Brussels, 13th July 2023 - Ambassador Atilio Berardi presented his Letters of Credence to the President of the Council of the European Union, Charles Michel.
The Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to the European Union, Atilio Berardi, presented his Letters of Credence to the President of the EU Council, Charles Michel, thus marking the official beginning of his mandate as Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina to the European Union.
The Letters of Credence are the official documents that accredit Ambassador Berardi as the representative of the Argentine government to the European Union. These documents grant the authority to negotiate and carry out diplomatic functions on behalf of his country. The presentation of Letters of Credence is a moment of special symbolic and diplomatic importance, as it signifies the formal recognition of the ambassador by the host country or institution.
The current President of the Council of the European Union, Charles Michel, plays a fundamental role in coordinating and representing the member states in key political decisions of the EU. They also assessed the progress in the Mercosur-EU Agreement, highlighting its importance as a key instrument to strengthen the economic and trade ties between the two regions.
