Brussels, 21st June 2023 - The Argentine Embassy to the European Union is pleased to announce the arrival of the new Argentine Ambassador, Atilio Berardi, to the Belgian capital. After officially assuming his duties, Ambassador Berardi held his first team meeting, thus marking the beginning of his work as Argentina's representative to the European institutions.
Following the presentation of the copies of the letters of credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to the European Union, Ambassador Berardi will focus on the start of his working agenda with various meetings and work visits aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and promoting Argentine interests in the European context.
During the upcoming weeks, the Ambassador, together with the team of the Argentine Embassy to the EU, will be particularly devoted to the preparation and Argentine participation in the CELAC-EU Summit, a crucial event to be held in Brussels on the 17th and 18th of July, which will be attended by Heads of State and Government from both regional blocs. Argentina, as an active member of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), will work towards further strengthening the ties with the European Union and advancing in areas of common interest, for the mutual benefit of both regions.
Ambassador Atilio Berardi is a career diplomat, graduating with the Gold Medal from the Institute of Foreign Service of the Nation. Prior to assuming the leadership of this Embassy, he held various relevant positions in the Argentine Foreign Ministry, most recently working as the Chief of Diplomatic Coordination in the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade, and Worship. Furthermore, he possesses extensive experience, including serving as Chief of Staff in the Secretariat of International Economic Relations and Consul General in Chicago.
