Identification campaign of the Argentine Forensic Anthropology team

The Argentine team of Forensic Anthropology - EAAF - is conducting a campaign so that relatives of people disappeared during the last civic-military dictatorship, provide a blood sample if they haven´t done so before.

600 bodies found in common and individual graves in cemeteries in the province of Buenos Aires, buried there during the last military dictatorship, could not be identified due to the lack of genetic profiles to check the DNA.

Family members who can donate are, first of all, what are called first generation relatives: parents, children and siblings. However, cousins, uncles and grandchildren can also provide their blood sample. The certainty of identification increases as the number of relatives of the disappeared who provide blood samples increases.
